Welcome to Tharawal Primary School’s webpage. We trust you will enjoy viewing some of the activities and aspects of our school.
The values of respect and responsibility are strong features of Tharawal Primary School's culture. The caring nature of our school is demonstrated by students, parents and staff through successful learning, buddy programs and leadership opportunities. Our dedicated teachers, together with quality programs, provide a strong academic focus which challenges and inspires students. Spacious, landscaped school grounds and attractive, well resourced classrooms provide a pleasant and safe learning environment.

Tharawal has a strong focus on literacy and numeracy programs that cater for individual needs. The student ’s learning requirements are supported with extension and remediation programs. Tharawal Primary School has maintained very impressive Basic Skills Test results. Please see our current Annual School report for further details.
Extra curricula activities include choir, band, dance, interschool sport, public speaking, university competitions and excursions. Student responsibility through leadership opportunities is an important aspect of our school. The SRC, Captains, Vice Captains and prefects take a genuine role in school improvement.
We are a proud member of the Community of Schools Between the Rivers (COSBTR) and take part in many joint initiatives with the neighbouring government schools in our area.
Our parents are informed and most supportive as partners in the educational process. As principal it is very satisfying to work collaboratively with a P&C that has enabled us to implement quality teaching and learning through additional resources. Recent support has included significant computer technology innovations and air conditioning throughout the school.
